Watches..

I know, I know. It's been more than a month. And this time, it's completely my fault. So, now, I promise to increase the frequency of my posts.

This is my grandfather's new Titan watch. It's a beauty and I had to shoot it! Here it is.

Sunset in the drive to Yercaud..

The drive to Yercaud was really enjoyable and the sunset that evening was exquisite! It's a pity that I slept through most of the sunset. Here's what I got though. I got it with these palms which made it look very tropical to me.

The Red-whiskered bulbul!

We took a quick two-day trip to a hill-station in Tamilnadu called Yercaud. And we just relaxed. It was beautiful! I managed to do a little bird photography with my new zoom lens. Here's one shot of a Red whiskered bulbul. :) They were pretty common around the area we stayed in. In the next picture, I'll show you how the bulbul actually looks. In this one, I tried to capture the bulbul as a sillhouette and I liked the result. :) Here it is.

Brindavan gardens!

No trip to Mysore is complete without going to Brindavan Gardens! The fountains are just so beautiful in the night! I took a long exposure shot of one of the many fountains and kind of liked the result. Here it is!

Unfortunately, I don't have the EXIF info for this since I bulk-converted the RAW images to JPEGs.

A dedication to my awesome cousins!

I just got back from what you could call a family reunion! We went to two places in South India, Mysore and Coorg. And we had an amazing time! We played cards, played football, played with our 3 year old cousin (whose picture I will be posting soon!) and we did so much fun stuff in one trip! My oldest cousin recently started working and wanted to buy me something, and since, we had played so much cards over the past few days, I asked him for a poker set! And he even taught us how to play! Thanks a lot, Rahul! When I get my first paycheck, I'm gonna try to get you something as exciting too! :) Here's a picture of our poker set! Thanks for showing us an awesome time and hope you come back soon, all of you! :)

Macro!

You guys are now gonna see a much larger variety of shots! Macro, wildlife, still-life and all the coolest shots! I got a lot of new accessories and I'm stoked! I don't have a whole lot of time this year but I'm going to make sure I can squeeze in as much time as I can to shoot a few pictures every week. So, for this year, I'm hoping for about 2-3 pictures a week. Here's a start with macro. I was just testing my new extension tube and I got a nice result. So, here it is.

It's been over a month!

I'm usually never this late! But, I've had a lot going on and now, I am gonna try my best to get back to at least a photo every 2-3 days. Sorry for the huge gap! Here's another flower from my garden, just until I get some good shots. :)

The good news is that I got a new lens! I'm super excited about it! It's a Sigma 70-300 mm telephoto lens with a macro function as well, which means that I can now take some good macro and wildlife shots too! Really looking forward to it. :)

The dried capsicum..

Yes, it has been quite a while! With my 12th grade going on, I find it really tough to even click any picture, let alone post them. So, after ages, I tried my hand at setting up another shot and tried to work on the lighting. Since it was a dried, wrinkled capsicum, I tried to bring out the texture of that capsicum. Tell me what you guys think. Here it is. :)

The detective's lair..

This is a still-life shot I tried after checking out quite a few of Karl Taylor's videos and tutorials. I am starting to love still-life. The lighting plays such a major role and it's very interesting. Not just that, but when you get a good picture, it is really satisfying. :) So, here goes. My first official still-life shot. :)

As usual, a monochrome shot as well as a color shot. For this shot, I did a little basic editing on Photoshop.

Picture details:

Aperture: F/16
Shutter: 1.3 sec.
ISO: 2000
Lens: 50 mm.
Flash: Off (But, external lighting was used.)
